Lions Mane Mushroom Steak Recipe

Your Lion’s Mane steaks gotta sizzle. 🤘🏼❤️‍🔥🍄 To make the best lion’s mane steaks, try my recipe and this method:

Equipment: 2 of the same size cast iron grill pans, heat-safe glass bowl, whisk, tongs, clean dry kitchen towels

4 Lion’s Mane mushrooms, stems trimmed so they sit flat

Marinade: 💦
2 Tbsp Liquid Aminos
1 tsp Vegan Worcestershire
1/4 cup oil: Sesame oil + olive oil (50/50)
1 tsp Smoked paprika
2 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp maple syrup
Sea salt and coarse black pepper, to taste

Whisk ingredients together (adjust as needed, double if you like it juicy 😛) pour over mushrooms and allow them to sit for 20 minutes to 1 hour.

Heat up a seasoned cast iron grill pan until it’s “screaming hot” and add all 4 mushrooms, cut stem down.

Put a second cast iron grill pan on top of mushrooms for 4 minutes, gently pushing the mushrooms down with a clean tri-fold kitchen towel. (Caution: don’t burn yourself!)

Remove top skillet and sprinkle with salt and pepper, replace and gently press down again for another 2 minutes.

Gently pour mushroom juices from skillet into a separate heat-safe bowl.

With tongs, flip each mushroom and repeat the above steps until you get good burnt ends and perfect grill marks.

Whisk together remaining marinade and mushroom juices and use as a steak sauce. Whisk in a little tomato paste to thicken if you like!
